GPHA staff may have been raped before being murdered – Police

A Police wireless report intercepted by atinkaonline.com suggests that the assailants of the former Marketing Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) may have raped her before carrying out the murder.

According to a transcribed wireless report, the police inspection team dispatched to the scene of the incident revealed that aside a fresh cut on the right eye brow of the deceased and a suspected bullet hole at the back of her head, there is evidence of sperms deposited at the private part region of the deceased.

The key to the bedroom and the remote control to the main door were also found at the entrance to the house close to the boys quarters.

Manager in charge of Marketing and Public Affairs at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Josephine Asante was allegedly murdered over the weekend at her residence in Tema Community 25.

Madam Asante was reportedly attacked in her bedroom after returning from a Senior Staff party of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) on Saturday January 12, 2019.

Her children, were reported to have discovered her body in a pool of blood Sunday morning.

The Tema Police Command has since arrested the” house boy” of the deceased, Christian Agyei, aged 22 who lives at the boy’s quarters in the compound.

According to the intercepted wireless report, the house boy was arrested with 340 Ghana cedis and a wrist watch of the deceased, which he allegedly buried in the ground behind his window at the boys’ quarters.

“On 13/1/2019 at 03:00hrs.

“The marketing manager of GHAPOHA. That the main door to her bed room was found locked but he saw her through the window lying unconscious in a pool of blood on the floor of the bedroom. A team of Police Personnel were sent to the scene. Inspection of the scene revealed, the doors and windows were all locked. The key to the bedroom and the remote control to the main door were found at the entrance to the house close to the boys quarters. There was a fresh cut on the right eye brow, a suspected bullet hole at the back of her head and sperms at her private part region. Foot and finger prints of the suspect were lifted. The” house boy” Christian Agyei age 22 years who lives at the boys quarters was arrested with 340 Ghana cedis and a wrists watch of the deceased, which the house boy buried in the ground behind his window at the boys quarters. However, Suspect Christian Agyei alleged he heard an unusual noise and when he came out he saw the Culprit escaping. Photograph of the scene were taken and the body deposited at Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. No spent shell was found at the scene and no bullet exit at the front portion of her head. Exhibits 340 Ghana cedis, a swap of sperm and a wrists watch retained. Suspect Christian Agyei detained to assist investigations.
