I have the requisite to be GFA president – Sammy Adjei
Former Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper, Sammy Adjei has given the clearest indication that he has what it takes to be the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Football-related activities in the country has been brought to a standstill after the premiering of the Anas Aremeyaw Anas ‘Number 12’ video that has shaken the foundation of Ghana Football.
Several top Ghana football officials were caught taking bribe. Former Kwesi Nyantakyi, former Ghana Football Association president has resigned since the airing of the video.
The 37-year-old who has been clubless for some years now made the pronouncement of being competent to become the GFA president at the time Ghana football is in a standstill.
“I could easily become the next GFA President”, Sammy Adjei told Asempa FM.
“If God wills me to be GFA President I will be. But I know I am very capable”.
The veteran goalkeeper was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany where Ghana was booted out of the competition at the knockout phase of the competition.
Elections will be conducted to elect new Executive Committee Members and a new president of the country’s football governing body when the Normalization Committee conclude their work.
