Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has suggested his previous life experience makes him impervious to threats on his life.
Reacting to claims that his public defense of his mentee, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, could put his life in jeopardy, the veteran journalist insisted he was not perturbed by the dangers that come with his work.
“I have seen death before. I’m alive because God loves me. Nothing in this world will intimidate me. I have a very thick skin and fearless!” Kweku Baako said on Peace FM.
He however admitted that he occasionally gets worried by the strenuous efforts by persons, particularly, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong to publish the identity of Anas.
In the opinion of Kweku Baako, all the allegations leveled against Anas by Mr Agyapong would come to naught, as they were all made on frivolous grounds.
The MP has been on a campaign against Anas insisting that his modus operandi of entrapping people should not be countenanced by Ghanaians.
Anas on his part has dragged Mr Agyapong, to court for defaming him and is asking the High Court to award aggravated damages to the tune of GH¢25 million arising from defamatory materials published by the MP.
The MP has, in the past weeks, been publishing materials in his bid to discredit the investigative journalist, who has released a piece on the rot in Ghana football.
“I believe Anas is a clean man and will come out victorious after all the allegations have been properly investigated. Ken Agyapong’s accusations can’t stand the test of time. So time will tell,” Kweku Baako stressed.
