I still get roles despite challenges in the movie industry – Adjetey Anang
Actor Adjetey Anang, has revealed that he still gets movie roles despite the many challenges bedevilling the local movie industry.
According to him, the movie industry is still struggling to get back at it feet but in spite of that he still enjoys movie roles.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, on Tuesday the actor admitted that the industry is having some tough times.
“When you check out the statistics, the number of movies churned out in a month has gone down. Most producers have slowed down and are producing less or not producing at all. From that angle you can say that the film industry has taken a nose dive…,” the actor said.
“…In every business, there are ups and downs and we go through those phases every now and then. What we do when things are bad is what will make us sustainable during hard times. Surprisingly it is during this time that I have done most of my works. I used to do three or four movies a year but from January this year I’ve done about nine movies…,” he said.
“…I think we are not seeing it as a business entity. There is still a market out there which wants to see Ghanaian movies. If the government can revive these cinemas I think it will help…,” he told Andy Dosty.
