I think people misinterpreted 1D1F Program – Okoe Boye

There was massive pressure on former deputy minister for health, Hon Bernard Okoe Boye on one district one factory program promised by the New Patriotic Party in 2016. Ghanaians have been asking a lot of questions about the one district one factory program and responses from NPP doesn’t go down well for Ghanaians.

NPP told Ghanaians in 2016 that they will build factory in every district if given the opportunity to led Ghanaians but when NPP won the election, things changed drastically. People thought that the NPP government led President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia could cut sod for factories to be build from scratch but they see them going round commissioning already built factories which surprises them.

Today on Metro TV good morning Ghana show, NDC communicator jabbed the NPP for failing Ghanaians on the promised made but Dr Okoe Boye responded that people misinterpreted the one district one factory program.

According to him, NPP doesn’t stated that they will build factory in every district but their target was to set up factories to employ Ghanaian youths which people misinterpreted. He stated that when they came into power they managed to revive a lot of factories by injecting monies into factories which are going down and used Obuasi mines as an example. He tell TV host, Anne Ampofo that one district one factory concept was totally misinterpreted and stated that President Nana Akufo-Addo has delivered on his promises on district one factory program promised by the NPP.

He revealed that former President, John Dramani Mahama’s administration collapsed a lot of factories which they were able to revive.
