Joshua Alabi has said that he would make Ghana the Switzerland of Africa, if he becomes President of the country.
The former Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) is confident that he will win the NDC primaries and the 2020 elections.
The NDC flagbearer hopeful, said that the centre of his campaign is God and noted that he would surely win the primaries when the party goes to congress to elect a flagbearer.
He revealed that his vision for Ghana, would drastically transform the country into the financial hub of Africa.“I will make Ghana the Switzerland of Africa when given the nod and I know I will win hands down,” he stated.
“I know surely that I will win the primary; God is at the centre of my campaign,” he made these assertions while speaking in an interview with the media.
He is among four NDC kingpins who have declared their willingness to lead the opposition party in the 2020 polls.
The others include Alban Bagbin, 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Nii Amasah Namoale, Former La-Dadekotopon MP and Sylvester Menah, National Health Insurance, former CEO.
Meanwhile, former President John Mahama has also declared his intention to run for the position.
Professor Alabi commenting on the flow of funds at grassroots level observed that it’s essential for the party to tap into the financial market by making investments to support the grassroots.
He added that constituencies have to be guided to invest in fixed deposits and treasury bills, bonds and other financial instruments, which may provide a higher return.
Prof Alabi explained that such investments would also enable the constituency executives to attend to the branches of the Party and to help strengthen the grassroots ahead of the national elections.
