‘I will make sure Anas is arrested’

Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong has threatened to cause the arrest of undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas by the end of the week.

Mr Agyapong insists that he has compelling evidence to back the bribery allegation claims he has levelled against the investigative journalist and will ensure he is brought to book.

“I am not taking this lightly, I will make sure today or tomorrow I get him arrested,” he told Joy News’ Kojo Yankson in an interview.

A documentary dubbed ‘Who Watches the Watchman’ was premiered Wednesday night in which the MP sought to expose the investigative journalist for allegedly extorting money from people he had investigated so that he will ‘kill’ their stories.

Hundreds of curious Ghanaians from various parts of the country thronged the forecourt of Ken City Media in Accra to view the much anticipated video “Who watches the watchman”, produced by the Assin Central Member of parliament, Kennedy Agyapong in a quest to expose the rot of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Before the premier of “Who watches the watchman”, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong in a brief interaction with the media said “for my film, I have pieced together several evidence from persons who have encountered a different Anas over the years.”

The video, in Kennedy Agyapong’s own version of secret recordings narrates how Anas operates undercover and also captures the journalist heard and seen negotiating an amount of money in a gold scam case dated way back to September 2009 in an unsecured place in Accra Newtown between one Mubarak and Baba Tunde as bribe to squash those caught on tape in very compromising situations.
