Controversial musician Patapaa has requested his fans to stop calling him by the name.
The “One corner” hit maker indicated that he wants to be known as “Patapeezy” and attributed comedian, Funny Face as the one who gave him the new name.
The Swedru based artiste made the change of name known in a video shot in Europe, lauded Funny Face for hyping him after the VGMAs and asked fans to now call him by the name given him by the comedian.
Patapaa went as far as saying he would take anyone who called him by the old name to court, “Funny Face gave me good hype and also gave me a new name, Patapeezy. I left the name Patapaa in South Africa. No one should call me Patapaa again. I’m not Patapaa. Call me Patapeezy, else I’ll take you to court. We have changed the name Patapaa and now it is Patapeezy,” he indicated.
Meanwhile, Togolese footballer Emmanuel Adebayor is said to have promised clothing the “Akwaaba” hitmaker with Dolce and Gabbana suits and to finance his video shoots as well.“Let them talk, don’t mind them next show… next award you will go there with Dolce & Gabbana suit. I will send them from Italy and take your measurement in Ghana,” Adebayor said in a video.
Adebayor, Funny Face’s friend who gave him a Range Rover is said to have fallen in love with Patapaa after the comedian posted a live video in which he was dancing to his song.
Patapaa’s dressing came under serious attack after he wore an over-sized suit to the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music. Comedian Funny Face took to social media to mock the outfit, nicknaming him Patapeezy.
