I will take a break from smoking – Kwaw Kese
Rapper Kwaw Kese has announced he will be a taking break from smoking for a while in 2019.
Even though he didn’t state categorically what he smokes, the rapper, born Emmanuel Botchwey, said he has been smoking for over 20 years and wants to pull the breaks in 2019.
That, he revealed, is part of his 2019 resolution and he is pleading with God to assist him to overcome his smoking habit.
“I shmoke (smoke) to over twenty years, eiii. 2019 biggest resolution, I go go (will) break small so help me God,” he said on Twitter on Tuesday.
The tweet generated a lot of attention, with some followers asking him to quit if it is affecting his health.
Kwaw Kese was arrested in November 2014 for allegedly smoking cannabis in public at Kumasi.
Reports at the tine suggested he was smoking in an open place in front a wine shop in Kumasi with other friends when he was arrested.
He was sentenced to a day’s imprisonment with a fine of GH¢1, 200.
He has recently been part of artistes who are calling for marijuana to be legalised in Ghana.
Months ago, he told Joy FM that he still smokes even though he doesn’t do it in public.
“That issue is a public issue but if I am doing it under my bed that that is me,” Kwaw Kese reportedly said.
But now, he wants to take a break for a while.
