Ernest Owusu Bempah, Communications Director of the Ghana Gas Company Limited has locked horns with Mrs. Hanna Bissiw describing her as an “ingrate”.
“I’m not surprised she will run down president of Ghana over current crisis in health sector despite effort by Akufo-Addo to fix the situation.
“This is the same person NDC’s Nana Konadu Agyemang picked from the grassroots and groomed as a veterinary surgeon in Cuba only for her to return to disrespect her on so many occasions to the point that they are not on cordial terms now,” she said on Accra-based Okay FM on Monday.
“If she could disrespect the one person that raised her up to this level, then how much less the leader from opposing political party,” he added.
He noted that perhaps she is lashing out at the ruling NPP because she has nothing to do as she’s no longer a minister or Member of Parliament.
“If she is pushing for the use of built hospitals by her government, she should tell us if the hospitals in Cuba where she was trained are run without beds, seats and medical instruments,” he retorted.
In his view, all the instruments and infrastructure by former government are not in use because government is still mobilizing funds to fully furnish and put the said health facilities in operation, so he does not see why Mrs. Bissiw would go every length to lambast the Akufo-Addo led government.
He stressed that she is only craving for attention as she probably has nothing doing.
The exchanges follow recent petition by pressure group which calls itself “value for life campaigners” which include Former Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hanna Bissiw to government over unused CT scan after a two-year old died because there was no CT scan to detect what was wrong with her.
The petitioners said, there are CT scans that were bought by the Mahama government sitting at the hospital unused.
According to Mrs Bissiw, the current administration does not want the person in charge of the operation of the machine to work on it anymore.
“The little girl was stabilized at 37 military Hospital and was referred here only for her to die because they were no CT scan to detect what was wrong with her” she said.
Receiving the petition on behalf of the hospital, Mr. Nuru-deen Mohammed said management of the hospital has taken notice of their concerns and assured them that the CT scan is been worked on.
“I assure you that the CT scan is being repaired as I speak to you, we have also made a visit to the Minister of Health who assured us that another CT scan will be purchased for the hospital” he said.
