Hearts of Oak board member, Vincent Odotei Sowah, has refuted claims made by former head coach of the club, Kosta Papic, that the club’s board influenced player-selection under him.
The Serbian resigned on Monday, citing interference from the board of the club on his work for his resignation.
Speaking at a board press briefing today to discuss the current happenings at the club, Sowah said Papic lied.
“Everything Kosta Papic told you was a lie. We have never influenced his decisions,” he said, as quoted by sportsworldghana.com.
According to him, the Serbian tactician rather had unresolved issues with the playing body and that was the main reason he resigned.
“He rather had issues with the players. Myself and Alhaji Akambi have done nothing wrong.
These revelations come after fans of Hearts of Oak stormed the club’s Secretariat this morning in protest of the current happenings.
