Jack Dorsey: No questions for Twitter CEO in Nigeria

Journalists in Nigeria have expressed disappointment after no questions were permitted at a meeting with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Mr Dorsey arrived in Nigeria on Thursday, beginning a month-long trip to Africa during which he will also travel to Ethiopia, Ghana and South Africa.

BBC Nigeria correspondent Mayeni Jones said reporters were informed that a question-and-answer session with the Twitter CEO would not go ahead on Friday.

She said there appeared to be a mix-up, with press not supposed to be invited to the event.

Instead, Mr Dorsey had his photograph taken and left.

Hilarious. Media in Lagos were told to come meet twitter CEO @jack at 7.30am. We’ve been corralled into a room and and hour and half later a PR says we’re not to leave and not to speak with him. Not a waste of time then

In comparison there was way more media access during Zuckerberg’s visit two years ago. I mean the man went jogging on the streets of lagos. No mean feat.1108:11 – 8 Nov 2019Twitter Ads information and privacySee Mayeni Jones’s other TweetsReportReport this social embed, make a complaintArticle share tools
