Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is the latest influential member of the ruling party whose name has been mentioned in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative piece yet to be screen.
It is roundly believed that president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyie, mentioned Mr Agyapong as one of the corrupt politicians who could help facilitate business transactions at the presidency to person who claimed to be investors.
Speaking on Oman FM’s Boiling Point on Tuesday, Ken said Kwesi Nyantakyi claimed he was one of his “small boys” in the ruling party.
Nyantakyi claimed that Ken was at the Roads Ministry and could help him and his investors get contracts.
“But this was just bragging and empty talk which made no sense…how can I be his small boy…,” he queried.
It emerged on Tuesday that Kwesi Nyantakyi boasted to potential investors that he could secure contracts without going through due process because he has “unconstrained” access to President Akufo-Addo.
In a secret audio-visual recording by Anas, titled, “Number 12”, Kwesi Nyanatakyi is heard saying, “I have President Akufo-Addo in my pocket and can secure any contract, it’s just a matter of paying”.
He adds: “Ghana is the easiest place to do business. All you have to do is pay the president $5 million and pay the vice president $3 million and we will control this country.”
Consequently, President Akufo-Addo directed the CID to arrest Kwesi Nyantakyi for alleged defrauding by false pretense.
Anas’ latest expose is set to premier at the Accra International Conference centre on 6th and 7th, the CCB auditorium in Kumasi on 9th and 10th, in Tamale on 13th and in Takoradi on 16th all in June, 2018.
