Kennedy Ohene Agyapong says he would go at all length to compel undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas to take off his mask when they slug it out in court.
Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas on Friday filed a defamatory suit against Mr Agyapong.
Anas is seeking reliefs, including general damages for libel against the MP as well as aggravated damages arising from some libelous comments published by Mr Agyapong in the sum of GHC25million.
Speaking to Asempa FM in Accra from China, Mr Agyapong insisted that he would not attend court proceedings if they fail to coerce Anas to show up without a veil.
“If he refuses to show up without the mask, I would also advise myself. I can’t fight a faceless man in court. And if that happens I will just ask my lawyers to go ahead without being present,” the lawmaker asserted.
Mr Agyapong said he was happy about the development because it was falling in line with his plan to “unmask” Anas in court, since he was going to challenge Anas to take off his mask for the case to go ahead.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament has been on an anti-Anas campaign after it was publicly announced that his documentary dubbed “Number 12” would be screened on June 6.
“Anas isn’t genuine as you people think, I tell you; he is an extortionist, a blackmailer and evil who is destroying people’s lives when he is doing worse things than the people he’s caused to be dismissed from the jobs”, he said on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Friday
