Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, veteran journalist and close associate of President Akufo-Addo has labeled prime suspect standing trial for the murder of J.B. Danquah-Adu as “foolish” and a “lunatic”.
To him, Daniel Asiedu, who is popularly referred to as Sexy Don Don’s claim that members of the ruling NPP hired him to murder the former Abuakwa North MP is a complete rubbish that must be thrown into the dustbin.
Commenting on Sexy Don Don’s alleged confession in court on Metro TV on Thursday, the editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Newspaper said he was not convinced by the suspect’s reported confessions, arguing that “his claim must be subjected to verification”.
“The guys claims were very useless. I think it must be thrown into the dustbin or at best must subjected to verification,” Mr Baako stressed.
On Wednesday, 20 June 2018, Mr Aseidu told the court he was hired by some people in the NPP to kill the lawmaker.
He told the District Court presided over by Her Worship Arit Nsemoh that his “contractors” told him to indict certain persons in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) instead of the NPP in the event of his arrest.
The late J.B Danquah-Adu was murder at his Shiashie residence on February 9, 2016.
The hitman gained access to the MP’s bedroom by climbing a ladder.
The late MP once served as deputy Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs.
