Kwesi Appiah names unfamiliar starting XI against Kenya
Coach James Akwasi Appiah has named an unfamiliar squad for Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.
South Africa based goalkeeper, goalkeeper, Richard Ofori will start in post with Reading defender Andy Yiadom playing at right back while Daniel Opare will operate at left back.
Leicester City defender, Daniel Amartey has been named as the captain for the team and will operate in central defends with Udinese player Nicholas Opoku.
Torino loanee, Afriyie Acquah is starting in midfield with US-based Ebenezer Ofori and Christian Atsu as well as Edwin Gyasi.
Thomas Partey will play behind striker Abdul Majeed Waris.
However, Inter Milan midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah who is making a return to the team after four years will start from the bench.
