Kyebi MCE scores 100 per cent

Kojo Ofori-Safo, the President’s nominee for Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Abuakwa South Assembly in the Eastern Region has been confirmed.

He was endorsed by all the 32 assembly members present.

Mr. Kojo Ofori-Safo becomes the first MCE for the municipality after it was split into Abuakwa South and North.

The newly-elected MCE, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the assembly members for reposing confidence in him to steer the affairs of the municipality in the coming years.

“You all agree with me that this is the President’s home base. This is where His Royal Majesty Osagyefo Amoatia and many prominent government officials come from. I am happy to announce to you that though late, I am the number one Municipal Chief Executive in Ghana now.

“I am happy for this honour done me and I wholeheartedly accept the onerous task associated with the position,” he said.

“I will work assiduously to bring honour and fame to this municipality with a high sense of integrity and fairness,” he added.

The Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour, who was also present at the assembly meeting, appealed to the assembly members to work with the new MCE to achieve the objectives of the government.

He said the doors of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council are always open for consultation on the vision of the government.

Prior to his nomination, Mr. Kojo Ofori-Safo was an Executive Director of Case Consult and Management Services Ltd and Knight Lamp Ltd.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast.

The new MCE has taught in several second cycle schools in Accra, Tema and Dunkwa-on Offin.

He is a seasoned tax expert and has undertaken courses in Principles of Accounting, General Office Procedures, Management and Taxation.

Kojo Ofori-Safo also holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Project Management option) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon and Master of Arts in Ports & Shipping Administration from the Regional Maritime University.
