‘Leave Ghana for Togo if you can’t stand Anas’

Kwabena Nsenkyire, Ashanti Regional Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, has descended heavily on Kennedy Agyapong over his continuous outbursts against Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Mr Nsenkyire has condemned Mr Agyapong’s incessant attacks on the undercover journalist, asking him to “leave for Togo if he can’t stand Anas’ style of journalism”.

Speaking on Nhyira FM, the NPP vice chairman said Anas’ journalism style is one that should be embraced by all well-meaning Ghanaians, irrespective of the person’s political or social standing.

“President Akufo-Addo in 2016 promised to collaborate with people like Anas to fight corruption. Ken Agyapong should spare us all the noise,” Mr Nsenkyire added.

Outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agypaong, has threatened to reveal damning information about investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas if he doesn’t stay away from his dubious practice.

According to the legislator, Anas has duped several unsuspecting people with his “so-called” investigative journalism, adding that he (Ken Agyapong) “will soon expose his activities”.

“I will soon expose this guy in this country. He goes round blackmailing people and we think he is doing something good for the country.

“This guy plant baits for people to accept bribes and later record them. What kind of investigation is that?” Mr Agyapong quizzed on Asempa FM on Monday.

The attacks follow Anas’ latest exposé on football corruption and politics, which has already seen Ghana Football Association President, Kwasi Nyantakyi, under investigation.

However Mr. Nsenkyire says Anas is doing a marvelous job and needs to be commended rather than condemned.

He adds that Ghanaians are corrupt and the country needs people like Anas to put the citizenry on track.
