Ultimately, it was a cagey half but it’s Senegal who go in with a one-goal lead thanks to Cionek’s unfortunate own goal in the 37th minute. Stay tuned for the second half!

41: CLOSE! Senegal corner now which Niang takes. Sane rises highest to meet it in the centre but he directs his header just wide! That was a great chance for Senegal to double their lead!

Mane squares to Gueye on the edge of the box. He takes a touch before striking the ball towards goal. His effort takes a heavy deflection off Cionek and in! The goal is being registered as an own goal.

36: Sarr is down holding his foot after stretching for the ball alongside Mane and Krychowiak. He’s now receiving treatment.

Blaszczykowski has also just had some medical attention after falling over on the edge of the box.

18: It’s that man Niang again on the ball. Sabaly plays a brilliant ball through to him and Niang looks to square for Mane and Diouf at the far post, but his cross is mis-hit and skids out for a goal-kick.

17: Senegal are looking on top here and have looked dangerous on the counter-attack. They appear quick to get the ball out to Mane and Sarr on the flanks and the gameplan seems to be working so far. Poland have looked hesitant in defence.

13: Sane takes the resulting 35-yard free-kick but he gets it horribly wrong as his strike goes well wide of Szczesny’s right post.

10: Mane tries to slip through Niang but the ball is slightly too heavy and Szczesny can claim. Senegal are on top at the moment.

8: More danger coming from Senegal’s left-hand side as Niang’s cross almost reaches Sarr at the far post, but Rybus gets there in time to make the vital clearance!

7: Senegal attack down the left and Niang puts a ball in, but Szczesny is able to intercept.
