Livestream: NDC addresses nation after Mahama’s defeat, challenge outcome of 2020 polls

The NDC has addressed the nation following the second defeat of its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The Electoral Commission says the former President polled 6, 214, 889 representing 47.36% of the total votes cast in the December 7 polls, his main competitor, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 6,730, 413 which is 51.59% of the total votes cast.

Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu in his address raised a number of concerns including contention over results of parliamentary seats of Upper Denkyira West, Tarkwa Nsuaem etc.

The NDC claim they have evidence that proves that the EC did not oversee a transparent and fair election and hence they will challenge the outcome of 2020 polls.
