Member of Parliament for Bawku Central in the Upper East region Mahama Ayariga has said that no mediocre Minister will be approved.
According to him, with the kind of taxpayers monies used in paying public servants in the delivery of their duties, its imperative that quality personnel is also used to run such offices.
“I don’t think that the tax payer’s money, or with the kind of monies that are used to pay us to run the affairs of the public, it will be fair to the taxpayer that we lined up mediocre people to run public affairs.”
He indicate that this move will be supported by the current set up in Parliament because it’s not going to be business as usual.
“This current structure of parliament provides an opportunity to screen people properly and if really they don’t meet the standards it will raise the red flags.”
On claims that the Minority Group in Parliament will vent their spleen on some appointees and settle personal scores with them at the Appointments Committee, he indicate that the NDC strives to be professional in whatever they do and will perform their duties professionall.
