NPP seeks out of court settlement
Nkrabea Effah Dartey has disclosed that the NPP has approached plaintiff, Ohemaa Sekyiwaa and Multimedia for an amicable resolution in Hajia Fati’s alleged assault case.
The counsel for the ardent NPP follower, who claimed the assault case had been unnecessarily exaggerated, has indicated that, NPP executives have moved to secure an out of court settlement in the matter.
Capt. Rtd. Nkrabeah Effah Dartey observed that, his client regrets her actions and is looking to appease Ohemaa Sekyiwaa and Multimedia.
“Talks are ongoing to reach a peaceful resolution in the case revolving around an Adom FM reporter and Hajia Fati.
“We hope that Multimedia and their staff will reconsider their decision and drop the charges; the NPP as a party consider Hajia as a ‘mother figure’ but we have chastised her behind closed doors and she herself has admitted she erred in that regard.
“So we hope we are able to reach an agreement with our complainant to accept an out of court settlement to put the matter to rest once and for all,” he said on Okay FM on Tuesday.
Meanwhile Hajia Fati has been granted bail at GHC10, 000.00 with one surety and case adjourned to June 18.
The notorious NPP follower, Hajia Fati is standing trial for allegedly slapping Adom FM’s Ohemaa Sekyiwaa who was covering events at the NPP’s headquarters on Friday, 4 May 2018.
On Wednesday, 9 May 2018, the NPP loyalist rendered an unqualified apology to the victim and Ghanaian journalists in general.
But the multimedia group stated that her apology would not be accepted and will ensure that Hajia Fati is prosecuted.
