Police killers shouldn’t deter us – Acting IGP urges police
COP James Oppong-Boanuh, the Acting Inspector-General of Police has encouraged police personnel to continue to effectively discharge of their duties in protecting the public despite recent attacks on officers.
According to James Oppong-Boanuh, these incidents should not “dampen our morale.”.
He further stated at a mid-year church service for police personnel that the force is well- equipped to bring the assailants to book.
The country has seen the deaths of three police officers over a period of three weeks.
A policewoman, General Corporal Agatha Nana Nabin, was found on July 30 with a shot to the back of her head at Kumbungu in the Northern region.
One officer was killed in Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti region.
L/Cpl. Alhassan Asare was found on Tuesday in a plastic chair while on duty at the Dukes Petroleum Filling station at Swedru in the Eastern region at around 5:40 am.
He made assurances that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
