Prof Ahwoi should have started his ‘Working with Rawlings’ book with an apology – Paul Adom-Otchere

The host of ‘Good Evening Ghana’ show on Metro TV has said Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi should have apologised for endorsing a coup in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) era.

Paul Adom-Otchere said that step would be a deterrent for the youth against considering toppling constitutional government.

Commenting on the controversial ‘Working with Rawlings’ book he argued that all people who were associated with military juntas must include unqualified apologies for undermining the nation’s constitutional rule in books they write.

“They must begin with the recognition of an apology of endorsing an illegal act of overthrowing the constitutionally elected government of Dr Limann.

“Going forward, posterity and the younger people must be told that something is wrong and the other is right so when Kwamena Ahwoi writes a book, I expect that he renders an unqualified apology,” he said.

Speaking Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, the journalist criticised the “obvious” omission.
