Nothing Can Stop Bawumia’s Victory - Tema East NPP Chairman
The Chairman of the Tema East Constituency branch of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared that the victory of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP’s upcoming presidential primary is a surety.
And this surety, according to Nene Ofoe-Teyechu Agbadiagba lV, is one that nobody can stop.
“From day one, we said it that the natural transition from President Akufo-Addo is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and so far every available sign on the wall, points to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia winning hands down without sweat.” Nene Agbadiagba said.
Nene made the declaration while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Asafotufiami festival of Ada on Saturday.
According to him, “and we are going to make every effort to ensure that that victory is delivered smooth and clean.”
The declaration comes as the build up to the NPP’s presidential primary on November 4, 2023 continues to gather steam.
It also comes as Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, one of the hopefuls, runs amok with dirty politics targeting Dr. Bawumia.
“No amount of hate or dirty politics against Dr. Bawumia will work because we the level headed people in the party are solidly behind him,” Nene Ofoe-Teyechu Agbadiagba IV said in response to a question by a journalist who wanted to pick his thoughts on all the mud being heaped on Dr. Bawumia.
In the campaigning fueling the build-up, Dr. Bawumia has been standing out clearly with his main opponent, Alan Kyerematen, increasingly looking like a man without a message to sell to voters.
Meanwhile, most NPP bigwigs are pitching camp with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, openly declaring support for him and campaigning for his election as the party’s new leader.
Nene Ofoe-Teyechu Agbadiagba IV, a manager at GPHA told journalists that most constituency and regional branches of the NPP have fallen in love with Dr. Bawumia because of his brilliance and good works coupled with the fact that he is the best to break the 8 and that is why the NDC as a political party is afraid of him like “kakai”.
“It is by no chance that all over the country, you have many delegates and party executives openly throwing support behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. It is history in the making and nobody can stand in the way of it,” Nene Agbadiagba told journalists whiles beaming with smiles.
The big name attendees at the Ada Asafotufiami festival include the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey, the Managing Director of VALCO and former deputy Minister of Transport, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover and the hardworking and brilliant Tema MCE, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, who is likely to snatch the Tema East NDC Parliamentary seat easily.
As at Saturday, June 24th, 2023, a total of ten flagbearer hopefuls had successfully filed their nominations.
The list of candidates who completed the nomination process included Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Kwadwo Poku, an Energy Expert, Mr. Alan Kyerematen, a former Trade and Industry Minister, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The rest are Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former Food and Agriculture Minister, Mr. Boakye Agyarko, a former Energy Minister, Mr. Edward Addai-Nimo, a former MP for Asante Mampong, and Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, an Economist.
