Ghana's number one female artiste Wendy Shay, and multiple award winning gospel musician, Nacee threw all their arsenal behind Independent candidate Ohene Kwame Frimpong during his campaign launch in Asante Akyem North.

It was a memorable day in the constituency as both music icons thrilled the massive supporters of O.K Frimpong with their hit songs in Agogo where the campaign launch took place.

Many people across Asante Akyem North joined the celebration to show their love to their preferred candidate who has been of enormous help to the vulnerable residents in the area.

The Asante Akyem North has been occupied by four candidates, all from New Patroitic Party (NPP) since 1996. The late Honourable Kwadwo Baah Wiredu ruled from January 1997 to September 24, 2008 where he passed on.

He was succeeded by Lawyer Kwame Anyimadu Antwi from 2008 to 2012. Honourable Kwadwo Baah Agyemang took over for another one term in office (2012 to 2016) before Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi ascended on throne up to date.

Ohene Kwame Frimpong will have Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi (NPP) and Kofi Asamoah (NDC) to contend with for the upcoming December 7 polls.

At his campaign launch, O.K Frimpong who owns Salt FM in Agogo and has also built ultra-modern mosque for the Zongo community in Agogo, reaffirm his commitment for more development.

"My vision is to serve the people of Asante Akyem North and help the area to develop in all aspect including education, health, infrastructure and sports.

"Already, we are doing a lot in the area. We are building and renovating dilapidated school buildings. We are helping patients at the various hospitals and creating jobs and travelling opportunities for people.

"I will be motivated to do more when I gain power on December 7. I want the constituents to have absolute confidence in me" he noted.
