Mega Victory Beckons Bawumia and Tema MCE - NPP Chairman
In the 2024 elections, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, will win massively as presidential candidate and parliamentary candidate respectively, of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
This is a vow by the Chairman of the Tema East Constituency branch of the NPP, Nene Ofoe Teyechu Agbadiagba lV.
“Victory is beckoning Dr. Bawumia and we on the ground are more than ready to lend the response needed to ensure that this victory is sealed come 2024,” said Nene in an exclusive interview with journalists in his office at Tema New Town.
Again, he said that, “victory is beckoning Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey as the next MP of Tema East and we are more than ready to put in the necessary work on the ground for the victory to be sealed in 2024.”
According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s performance in the recent NPP super delegates conference has built a certain momentum that has naturally projected him winsomely.
“What many people are beginning to realize is that this momentum has really awoken interest in the Bawumia brand and this is a crucial development that affords him the opportunity to sell his track record to voters in 2024.”
Nene said that this attention that Dr. Bawumia is enjoying, “silences all the political clamour and distractions that the NDC will often try to use to take away the attention of voters from the real issues. And now that voters are paying attention, it will be easy to win them over when Dr. Bawumia accounts for his stewardship as Vice President in the last seven years.”
For Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, Nene said that the Tema MCE is in very good position to win the parliamentary election easily and return the seat to the NPP which lost it to the NDC in 2020 due to internal confusion.
“Our loss of Tema East in 2020 was due to the internal fractures that we did not properly deal with before we entered the election,” Nene Ofoe Teye said.
He pointed out however that this time round, the election of Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey as PC, has been characterized by unity of purpose and now that the whole of Tema East NPP is united behind him, taking back the seat that the NPP dominated for decades is just a matter of course.
“If you followed the process of Hon. Amarh Ashitey becoming our Parliamentary candidate, it was through a popular acclamation. Nobody in the party felt the need to challenge him unlike in the past election when there was so deep opposition to Hon. Titus Glover, that some aggrieved NPP members actually crossed carpet after our primary and helped the NDC’s election campaign,” Nene said.
According to him, “this time round, nobody from the NPP will help the NDC. Consequently he said that, “in 2024, there is no doubt whatsoever that our seat, Tema East, is returning to us.”
The Tema East NPP Chairman actually put numbers to his outlook on the elections, saying Dr. Bawumia will win against the NDC’s John Mahama by not less than 200,000 votes while in the Tema East election, Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey will win by at least 52% of all the votes that will be cast.
