Sacked EC boss pushed NDC agenda during 2016 elections-Odike
The sacked chairperson of the Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei prior to the last general elections did the bidding for the then ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and John Mahama as flagbearer of NDC, according to the founder and leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike.
“John Mahama told Charlotte Osei to slash all the smaller political parties from contesting the 2016 polls and I was told by an insider”, the failed 2012 presidential candidate alleged on Nhyira FM’s “Kro Yimu Nsem” political talkshow monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
“Even what NDC as a political party is doing confirms they are still in bed with Charlotte Osei”, Mr. Akwasi Addia Odike revealed to host of Nhyira FM morning show, Aduanaba Kofi Ennin during ” Kro Yimu Nsem”, political talkshow.
The UPP founder who now appears a staunch supporter of President Akufo-Addo jumped to the defense of the President for acting on the decision of the five member Committee set by Chief Justice (CJ) to sack Madam Charlotte Osei and her two deputies; Amadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku Amankwa from office.
“The President has no powers not implement the committee’s finding. President Akufo-Addo has done well and we the smaller parties are happy”, Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike revealed during panel discussion.
