On October 22, 2020, Ghanaian actress cum entrepreneur Salma Mumin accused telecommunication giants, MTN of stealing her money from her mobile money account.
Acoording to Salma in an Instagram post, she complained that an amount of GH¢10,000 had been illegally “taken” from her mobile money wallet without her knowledge. She had further threatened to “disturb the peace” of MTN until her money was refunded, claiming that “MTN is not safe anymore”.
“MTN keeps saying nobody can withdraw your Mono account without your concern but I just found out over 10,000 cedis from my mono account has been taken… MTN is not safe anymore,” she wrote on Instagram.
She later apologized which she said, “It was clearly mistaken. I hereby retract the said post and apologize unreservedly to MTN Ghana for any inconvenience caused it by my earlier post”.
In an interview on United Showbiz monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the host Nana Ama McBrown asked her to vividly explain what exactly happened.
Well, her explanation was more confusing than convincing and winding to the extent her exact words were misunderstood.
