Santeo: Alleged SWAT officers evict residents, lock up 40 houses

A team of men alleged to be from the SWAT division of the Ghana Police Service has locked up some houses and evicted their residents at Santeo in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The houses, numbering about 40, some of which belong to military personnel, were locked up on Wednesday, 20 April 2022, leaving the residents stranded.

One Mr Otsere is claiming title to the land which is about 30 acres.

The affected residents and property owners, however, think the court order is not genuine since they were not served.

The Assembly Member for the area, Mr Samuel Abbrey, said the SWAT team insisted it had an order from the court to evict the residents.

Mr Abbrey noted that he contacted the police headquarters about the issue and an order was given to the team to reopen the houses but they drove off with the keys.
