Shasha Marley finally breaks silence on arrest of Shatta Wale and Medikal; reveals tough realities about fame

Stardom is not a bed of roses, was the candid view of Ghanaian reggae Great, Shasha Marley in response to the recent issues revolving around the arrest of celebrated entertainers, Shatta Wale, Medikal and Funny Face.

According to the ‘Gloria Akuffo’ hit maker, life as a celebrity has its own ups and downs, despite the fact that is also open doors of opportunities.

Speaking about his encounter with top US musician, the late Isaac Hayes and his rise to fame, Shasha Marley revealed that handling stardom could be quite challenging especially when one has not gone through the mill.

“Just as scriptures state that there is a narrow way that is walked by a few, and a broad way walked by many, there is a lonely and tough road to stardom. In the same way, there is a broad way which is akin to easy route to fame,” he remarked.

In his estimation, regardless on the profession one finds themselves, he or she is bound to encounter struggles and hardships at some point in life. However, if the person went through the tough realities of life, when they later achieve high laurels, they remain calm and manage their attained success well.

Shasha Marley appealed to the public to try and understand celebrities as they, similar to doctors, lawyers, other professionals can battle with depression and all manner of difficulties.

“I appeal to our fans to try and be empathetic to stars, as we all face tough situations in life. I hope the powers that be will show some compassion to Shatta Wale, Medikal and co. The arrest is enough lesson, not to just the entertainers, but to the entire citizenry to act with caution in our day-to-day activities,” Shasha Marley said on ‘Ghana Yenso Mu’ show.
