Video: Sister Deborah joins clean Ghana campaign
Musician and model, Deborah Vanessa, better known as Sister Derby has called on the government to ban the use of plastic bags.
The music personality took to her Instagram account to call on Nation to educate each other on the bad effect of plastic bags in the community.
The music star’s post read,” When you are being offered a rubber bag for your purchase, ask yourself if it is truly necessary. Let’s all try in our own small way to refuse, reuse and recycle; reuse to hold your borla for example…
“Most plastic bags (rubber bags) end up in landfills where they take over 400 years to decompose. Others end up in our waterways, beaches and streets and if they are burned, infuse the air with toxic fumes.
“We did perfectly fine without them years ago and I believe we need to choose safety over convenience and develop the habit of keeping a reusable bag handy for our shopping.
