The Nkoranza Traditional Council has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for policy interventions and initiatives rolled out by his government.
According to the chiefs, the implementation of the fee-free Senior High School (SHS) policy, ‘Planting for Food and Jobs” and Nation Builders Corps will improve the quality of life of Ghanaians.
Oheneba Adjei Baffo, Ankobeahene and the acting President of the Council, said a lot had been achieved within the past 16 months and that the nation was on the path to economic growth and prosperity.
He gave the commendation when the President Akufo-Addo met with the Coalition of Zone 'A' Chiefs at Busunya, in the Nkoranza North District, at the start of his three-day official visit to the Brong Ahafo Region.
Oheneba Adjei Baffo said they were grateful to him for “honouring his campaign promise of creating new regions. It is on this score that two new regions will be carved out of Brong-Ahafo”.
“Nkoranzaman, as well as all other Paramount Chiefs falling within the proposed Brong East Region are grateful to you for such consideration, in fulfilment of your campaign promise.”
He stated that the Nkoranza area was endowed with vast lands, minerals, rivers and human resources vital to the effective administration of the new region.
He added that the proposed Bono East Region would be viable because of the abundance of its human and natural resources.
The Omanhene of the Techiman, Oseadeayo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, who spoke on behalf of the Bono East Coalition, thanked President Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his campaign pledge.
“If you help create this region, it will be truly historic. Help us, so that it becomes your legacy. It was during Kwame Nkrumah’s time that the Brong Ahafo Region was created.
"Let it also be said that it was during President Akufo-Addo and the NPP’s time that the Bono East Region was created”, Oseadeayo Ameyaw IV said.
