Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, will miss the Gunners’ game against Leeds United on Sunday in the Premier League because of a hamstring strain.
The 27-year-old Ghana international sustained the injury in Mikel Arteta’s side’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at the Villa Park on Saturday, January 6, 2021, and was subbed off in the 73rd minute.
The club in an update on their website says he won’t be available for Sunday’s game against Leeds and will continue to be assessed to see his availability for subsequent games.
“Thomas sustained a strain to his left hamstring during last Saturday’s match at Aston Villa and will miss the match against Leeds United on Sunday.
“Thomas will continue to be assessed and rehabilitate from this injury.”
The former Atletico Madrid man’s take off at Arsenal has been disrupted by injuries; his third so far since joining the London club back in the summer transfer window.
The first was the same hamstring injury against Aston Villa back in November 2020 and upon his return against Tottenham Hotspur in December 2020, it reoccurred and that of last week versus Villa again.
