‘Traitor’ A Plus makes u-turn on NDC, blasts NPP

Kwame Asare Obeng aka A Plus is well known for speaking plainly about politics in Ghana without fear or favour.

The ardent follower of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, was all over the place “harassing” former president John Mahama and the NDC ahead of the 2016 election.

The NPP eventually romped home with a landslide victory in the 2016 polls.

Nearly two years in power, the vociferous musician and social commenter appears to be singing a new tune – a tune which clearly blurs the line between the NPP and the NDC.

His recent remarks appears to be hailing NDC and subtly chiding his affiliated party, NPP, a political party he has sworn heavens to defend.

Read the message which seems to suggest the incumbent government could be checking out in the most distasteful manner.

“One day, this noble man’s presidency will come to an end. Some people will try to lie about him. They will try to destroy his legacy. They may even say free SHS is the worse policy ever.

He may be treated unfairly. His children may be stopped in traffic and their cars taken from them. Businesses belonging to people associated to him may suffer.

This is Ghana. That day will surely come. Just as I keep fighting for Ibrahim Mahama’s cement factory, I will fight for them. I will be here.

On this same media fighting for Nana and condemning unjust treatments meted out to him and his associates.

I will tell the world the many good things he would have achieved by then (I pray everything works out perfectly well) and condemn the few bad things that have happened. (I hope and pray non happens again).

I will do same for any Ghanaian including John Mahama. I will not stop talking about his unprecedented Tema Port expansion project. (Go to Tema and see for yourself).

I will praise him for ending dumsor. (Dumsor started in Ghana in 1998) I will praise him for the circle and Kasoa interchange. (They should have extended the dual carriage a bit further though) I will praise him for terminal 3. It is beautiful. I will praise him for the many hospitals he built.

I will also praise him for the schools he was building. But I will condemn him for allowing Akonfem to run away to Burkina when so much taxpayers money was involved.

I will not stop talking about SADA and the bus branding and the Ghana embassy in Burkina Faso wall, and the 2014 world cup.

When we were campaigning, anytime someone said Nana Addo will never become president, we asked a very simple question; “are you God?” Today the same people who asked that question want me to join them shout, John Mahama will never become president again. Am I God? Are you God? When did you become God? 😳😳😳😳😳 What happened under Mahama that was wrong, can’t be right under Nana. The unfair treatment Nana Addo received in opposition can’t be fair to Mahama today. Right and wrong must not be determined by where one belongs politically.

It is a very simple principle that will never change.
