The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, believes the success of the Black Satellites (Ghana U20) at the 2021 U20 Africa Cup of Nations is a taste of the future of football in the country.
Ghana triumphed over Uganda 2-0 on Saturday in the final in Mauritania to lift the country’s fourth U20 AFCON title.
Speaking at the ceremony to officially present the trophy to President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday at the Jubilee House, Okraku said the right financial support from the government will yield Ghana more trophies in the future.
“Mr. President, our appearance here is to give you a small taste of what the future holds for Ghana football.
“And our believe is that with the right level of support that we received on the journey to Benin and to Mauritania, this is just a tip of the iceberg and Ghana will bring back the love.
“Ghana will win more trophies; Ghana will be at the apex of not only African football but world football.”
