Upper West Chiefs heap praises on Nana Addo
Naa Alhaji Imoro Nandomy-Gomah II, he Paramount Chief of the Wechiau Traditional Area, in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region, has commended the current government for implementing life changing policies that have lessened their burdens.
“The Free Senior High School programme, allows us to use money that would have been spent on education, to be held up in our pockets, subsidized fertilizer programme, expansion of School Feeding Programme, are all beneficial to us, and for which we will forever be grateful,” the chief stated.
The president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, visited the paramount chief in his tour of the region.
I’m also reliably informed that about seven dams, so far, have been constructed in the district. Though we are most grateful for that, we want more to happen, like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more.”, the Wechiau chief added.
The Chief also expressed gratitude to the President for presenting tractors and power tillers to the Wa West District, under the Agric Mechanisation programme and gave the assurance the equipment will be put to good use.
At the President’s next stop Issa, the Chiefs thanked him for the programme, Planting For Food and Jobs, which according to them had made a significant difference.
“Under your watch, the Planting for Export and Rural Development is also creating jobs, and will soon be a source of livelihood and revenue for many households and the District assembly, respectively. Our district capital roads and other adjoining communities have been tarred,”
They also expressed gratitude for a hospital under construction, their first ever resident doctor and the new senior high school
