Yahaya Mohammed rubbishes NC payment plans for players ahead of special competition
Aduana Stars skipper, Yahaya Mohammed has rubbished the payment plans adopted by the Normalization Committee to be used to pay players of clubs that will be participating in the proposed Novelty Competition.
The committee after a meeting with club owners of the Premier and Division One Leagues disclosed that they will be paying players’ winning bonuses directly into their account.
The decision which has not been accepted by many of the clubs owners seems to also be of concern to some players who believe the payment plans by the NC is an injustice to the clubs owners who have time and time again invested and spent a lot of monies in running their clubs.
However, according to the former Asante Kotoko forward, the decision doesn’t sound right and has poured out his disagreement with the NC’s decision.
“The only thing they [the normalization committee] can do to help us the players is by giving the monies to the team owners,” he told Asempa FM.
“The owner formed his team and he knows how he struggles to keep the team in shape; is he [Dr. Kofi Amoah] the one who formed the team for the owner?
He insists that if the President of the NC, Dr. Kofi Amoah was a club owner and such a decision was taken by someone else, there is no way he would have liked it. Therefore they should revise and avert the decision.
The Special competition will commence on January 26 and it is expected that it will be officially launched tomorrow.
In all, 64 clubs comprising 16 premier league clubs and 48 Division One Clubs will compete for the ultimate prize.
