You duped Nana Addo in our names – LPG supporters bare teeth at Akpaloo

A group of failed Parliamentary Candidates numbering over 140, who stood on the ticket of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), are up in arms against their Presidential Candidate, Kofi Akpaloo.

The pain of these disappointed Parliamentary aspirants is that they have been cheated by Mr Akpaloo in the just ended Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Addressing a news conference in Accra to make their case, the Parliamentary Candidate who stood on the ticket of the LPG at the Kwabre East constituency for the 2020 election, Kwabena Agyeman, indicated that Mr Kofi Akpaloo, asked him to take a loan for his parliamentary campaign after which he will be reimbursed but that has not been fulfilled.

According to him, he has had to be running away from his creditors because of the loan he took which was the doing of Mr Akpaloo.

Accusing Mr Apkaloo as a fraudster, he said the pickup vehicle, motorbikes and t-shirt he was promised, as well as the filing fees was never given.

Mr Agyeman, said he was the only candidate who went ahead to file to contest in the Ashanti region, while the rest withdrew their nominations and these has made him loose his political integrity and a laughing stock.

Mr Agyeman, who said he was not being emotional about his accusation but rather facing facts, further accused the LPG leader of going to seek sponsorship from President Nana Addo using their names which he reiterated makes Mr Akpaloo an outright fraud.

In view of all that have transpired, he said everything shows Mr Akakpo, has been engaging in political entrepreneurship where he aligns with a particular party at a time with the aim of securing funding for his own good knowing he cannot win.

Mr Agyeman, who read the press statement, tasked Mr Akpaloo to redeem his promise of paying him all that he invested in the campaign.

The news conference which he said is the first of series of actions is aimed at recouping the thousands of money they spent on the advice of Mr Akpaloo and to serve him a warning of many things to come.

Another disgruntled former Parliamentary Candidate for the LPG who stood at the Agona West constituency, Madam Esi Crentsil, who claimed she has been working for the past three years for the LPG, also accused Mr Akpaloo of luring her into spending her hard-earned resources to help the course of the party whiles he profit from it.

According to her, she used her popularity and influence she acquired during her 8-year reign as an Assemblywomanin the area to garner support for the LPG only to become poorer and Mr Akpaloo becoming richer.

Another aggrieved member, Madam Gifty Hammond, who contested the Ayawaso Central seat on the ticket of the LPG said all calls to Mr Akpaloo on the matter has not been answered.

For her, she was just expecting Mr Akpaloo to call them to show concern about their well-being after the elections but he has neglected them.
