I’m not arrogant; I speak the truth - Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central and a presidential aspirant within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his concern about the tendency to label individuals who speak the truth as arrogant.

He raised this issue during an interview on the Face to Face program on Citi TV.

Agyapong pointed out that people in Ghana often hesitate to speak the truth because they fear being labeled as arrogant or insulting. He believes that this unwarranted labeling discourages many individuals from openly addressing important issues.

He went on to mention that his responses and commentary are often influenced by the actions of others, as he tends to reciprocate the tone and content of their actions. He expressed his frustration that sometimes he is criticized for responding to allegations and insults directed at him, even though his response is seen as a reaction to those actions.

Agyapong emphasized the importance of having confidence, being bold, honest, sincere, and disciplined in order to contribute to the country’s development. He defended his own approach, stating that his positive contributions far outweigh any negative perceptions of his behavior.

In essence, Agyapong is advocating for an environment where individuals can freely speak the truth without fearing unjust labels, and where open and honest dialogue can contribute to positive change in the country.
