Greater Accra Handball League 2024: Police and Navy Dominate in Debut 'A' League Matches
The much-anticipated Greater Accra Handball League 2024 season commenceed with a bang on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Prisons Handball Court. This season marks the introduction of an 'A' League and a 'B' League, aligning with IHF standards to elevate the competition's quality. The 'A' League features the top-tier teams, promising intense and high-stakes matches right from the start.
*Women's Division Highlights:*
The opening match set the tone for an exhilarating season as the 2024 Open Gala champions, Army Ladies, faced off against Police Ladies. The Police Ladies showcased their superior strategy and skill, emerging victorious with a score of 21-17.
In the second match, Navy displayed their dominance against Fire, securing a decisive 31-17 victory. The final women's division game of the day saw a thrilling draw between Prisons and Air Force, both teams ending the match at 23-23.

The men's division matches were equally electrifying. Police and Army locked horns in a nail-biting encounter, with Army narrowly clinching the win by a single point, 28-27.

Cantonment Youth concluded the day's fixtures with a commanding performance against El-Wak Wings, securing a 29-20 victory.
