Subin Constituency falls to JB Danquah
The New Patriotic Party’s hold on the Subin Constituency is threatened by the attempt by former party loyalist, Joseph Boakye Danquah to contest as an independent candidate.
Joseph Boakye Danquah, according to political watchers and analysts, stands on the verge of a personal achievement that would purge the NPP’s 32-year political dominance in the constituency.
Until JB Danquah throwing his hat into the ring, the Subin Constituency, which is located in the heart of the capital of the Ashanti Region, had remained a safe seat for the NPP, but recent projections by connoisseurs, have placed the impending polls on a knife’s edge.
As Joseph Boakye Danquah’s popularity soars, he has laid out his vision for what he described as “credible leadership” in all his campaign speeches.
"I offer credible leadership with clear vision that endears me to the people of Subin," he said in a recent interaction with the media.
The management expert, also declared that anyone who worked hard should be able to provide for themselves and their family, and that no one person was more entitled to special privileges that another.
He stood by fair play under the rules of the game ensuring the rules made opportunity available to everyone.
The Subin Constituency has assumed an important dimension for the governing NPP as one of their own seeks an upset that could have dire political consequences in the future.
