NDC bigwigs to storm Assin Central for Image Cleansing for PC – Amaliba

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has resolved to storm the Assin Central Constituency ahead of the 2024 election.

The political party is of the view that the constituency is winnable and therefore they will have to storm there to meet the youth, Chiefs, Elders and opinion leaders to make them understand that what people said about their Parliamentary candidate is untrue.

This was made known by Abraham Amaliba who is a leading member of the political party.

“The Assin Central Constituency is a winnable constituency. If you check the results we nearly won the seat but for Kennedy Agyapong’s dexterity. The seat is within reach. What are we going to do?

We have decided that we will go into the constituency and explain to the people, meet the chiefs, opinion leaders and the youth to make them understand that the information that they heard about the PC is untrue and is cooked up and that we think that the PC is the right person for the constituency.”

To Abraham Amaliba, the NDC will be affected and their chances of winning the seat will be limited if they do not engage the people.

“At FEC meeting we resolved that we will enter the constituency. The party chairman will be there, the bigwigs will be there to enter into the constituency to dispel the notion that the PC was involved in something untoward,” he said.

    Background
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended its Regional Chairman for the Central Region.

]The decision to suspend the Regional Chairman and the Constituency Secretary for the Assin Central constituency was met after they failed to provide proof of any immorality on the part of the Parliamentary candidate, Shaibu Migyimah.

Shaibu Migyimah was accused of having an intercourse with the wife of the constituency secretary; an allegation they could not prove with any form of evidence.

“The Regional Chairman, Prof. Richard Asiedu, is hereby suspended as Regional Chairman for one month effective immediately and is referred to the national Disciplinary Committee of the party on a charge of anti-party conduct,” General Secretary of the Party, Fifi Kwetey wrote in a letter.
